Waterloo Ren Faire Schedule [Tue, 28 May 2002 | 11:25 PM]
Appearances icon

11:25 PM - Waterloo Ren Faire Schedule - I just stumbled across the Waterloo Ren Faire web page and saw that our schedule is listed. Here is where and when you can find the wenches doing the laundry...

Stage #6 - "The Dragon's Tale"
12:30 - Washer Well Wenches-j
2:30 - Washer Well Wenches-j
3:30 - Royal Parade-all
5:00 - Washer Well Wenches-j

We are not sure what the "j" represents, but "m" is listed by music acts such as Minstrosity and "d" by dancing acts such as Danza Mystique so we can only assume "j" must be for jiggling... -- JohnPaul

2:00 PM - GSTL Memorial Day Weekend update... - After our first weekend at the 4th Annual Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire (you know, the one with the flood) there wasn't really anything anything worse that could have happened for Memorial Day Weekend (except maybe a tornado or earthquake). The final three day weekend of the event was close to perfect. The expected rains on Saturday morning did not show up but the people did. It was a record attendance weekend. After the strong crowds of Sunday they even made all the staff, merchants and performers park way up at the top of the hill to give the low area to the patrons. Tip-wise the wenches did significantly better than the firt weekend (not hard to do) and most all of the shows had fairly decent sized audiences. Over 1000 photos (not all of the wenches) will soon appear over at http://atthefaire.com with a selection of the best wench shots to appear here. -- JohnPaul

St. Louis Island? [Mon, 13 May 2002 | 10:16 PM]
Appearances icon

10:16 PM - St. Louis Island? - Never before in my life have I been so grateful to have such a boyant chest! We just returned from the Greater St. Louis Ren Faire in Wentzville, Missouri. Yes, I do realize that the faire was technically over last night, but Mother Nature is a Rennie, apparently, and didn't want the party to end. She is such a Rennie that she decided to trap us all on the fairegrounds for over 3 hours!

It was reported that 175 patrons and faire workers of all types were stuck on the fairegrounds when flash floods swept into the area at around 5pm on Sunday evening. There were two roads leading into the festival and both were under about a foot of water at the peak of the flooding. We had to wait patiently (and soggily) while rescue crews took everyone off the "island" one by one.

We'll be posting the full experience here soon, so keep watching.

Oh, and everyone seemed to really like our new shows! What a way to start the season, no? -- Willa
